Cwm Ddol Fawr Cottage

 Come and stay at our delightful detached cottage on our working small holding, with direct access into the Brechfa Forest,with its numerous Mountain bike and Walking Trails. Your host  (Julie) is a Carmarthen Tourist Association Embasador.

Cwmddol Fawr Cottage is nestle on the edge of the Brechfa Forest, an 18000 acre ancient forest enjoying numerous Walk and Mountain Bike Trails designed by Rowan Sorrell and Brian Rumble.

This beautiful cottage is bursting with character. The property sleeps 4/5. It has a large well equiped kitchen with range cooker, fridge freezer, microwave and dishwasher, leading into open plan lounge/dinning room with log burner, TV, DVD and CD player.  Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms 1 x King size and 1 x twin/treble with single beds, Bathroom : Bath with shower over and WC.  Outside is  a large garden with further access to 25 acres of the our farmland.

From Cwmddol Fawr Cottage direct access into the forest which is part of the Cothi Valley.  This provides Walkers, Mountain Bikers and Horse Riders with beautiful scenic routes to explore.

Horse Riding

 What a great way to enjoy your holiday but with your best friend ( Your Horse) with excellent stbling and turnout available on your doorstep. From the property there is direct access into the Brechfa forest. Ride for 1hr to all day. Escorted rides can be arranged.

Either Turnout in secure paddocks or stable ( either must be muck out daily)

Stable £10 per night – includes haylage and straw

Turnout £5 per night can include haylage

Mountain Biking

A short distance from the cottage is the Black Raven Trail, designed by Rowan Sorrell and Brian Ramble, raises Brechfa’s take on mountain biking to the next level.Suitable only for

Suitable only for proficent bikers, the trail effortlessly mixes up the more traditional narrow woodland singletracks with Brechfa signature brash descents : fast undulating trail that sweeps between trees and flows sinuously into berms and over jumps.

This trail takes you into the more interesting corners of the forest and creates a ride that involes the forests unique environment, from spooky mossy overhangs to the magnificent Douglas fir Northshore Bridge. Or if you need something a little easier there are 4 other trails for different abilitys. Or you can find your own trails straight form the cottage.
